Tuesday

Today we decided to tackle the buses since we were heading to Trastevere which is across the Tiber and the metros don't go there.  Got the numbers from an app I had downloaded. Very helpful but we needed internet to access it so I had to write it all down before we left the apartment. After studying the bus sign at Republicca we decided to go to Termini and catch it instead since we weren't quite sure about it and Termini is the train station and has a lot of buses. We got on the right bus but got off too soon, just across the river. Went to the I booth to find a bathroom and San Francisco a Ripa. The bathroom suggestion was go to the cafe across the street, buy a coffee and use their restroom. It is a never ending cycle in Italy. Few public restrooms, mostly cost 50 cents and mostly out of order. So you end up buying coffee, using the restroom and then having to find another restroom since you just drank some coffee. The bright side is the coffee is really, really good. Found the church and saw another Ecstasy.
Incredible!
We walked to find a restaurant, da Enza, that we wanted to try. Very small place that sources organic products from local growers. It didn't open until 12 so we sat in a small piazza and watched the locals for a while.
Then had a wonderful meal of an artichoke appetizer, spaghetti a peppe, lasagne, great bread, (we were told by the server) the best olive oil in Italy and wine of course. There was a leisurely walk across the river

and back to Piazza Navona to seethe 4 rivers fountain and the sea god fountain.
We had a cocktail (instead of coffee) at a local cafe and, you guesssed it, used the restroom,  and then another exciting bus adventure returned us to Republicca.

We watched Undercover Bosses and Property Brothers in Italian of course then went to dinner around 8 at a local Pizzeria. They had a great appetizer bar with artichokes (yes I am obsessed) stuffed peppers, eggplant etc and the pizza was crispy and the sausage spicy. All in all a very Italian day!
